Concert Review
I was absolutely stoked to start off my 2025 season seeing Jerry Cantrell kick off his “I Want Blood” tour in Niagara Falls. I’ve always been a fan of Alice in Chains, so being able to see Jerry perform was definitely on my bucket list as soon as he announced his tour for this year.

The night started off with the opening band, Filter. They were a great start to the night; they encouraged everyone to get on their feet and let loose!! They played some of their hits like “Take a Picture,” “Hey Man, Nice Shot,” and “(Can’t You) Trip As I Do.” The band complimented Cantrell’s music style well, and I think I was a fantastic choice to open the tour.
When it finally came time for Jerry and his band to take the stage, the room was packed and ready. The second the lights dimmed, the crowd exploded with cheers of excitement (I swear I could feel the floor shaking!!). The band went right into playing “Psychotic Break” which was a perfect starting song to get the crowd going. Without missing a beat, they immediately started into playing the Alice in Chains song, “Them Bones”. This was definitely a fan favourite, evident by the word-for-word singing happening all throughout the venue from everyone in attendance.

Jerry and his band played many songs off of his new album “I Want Blood,” including songs like “Off the Rails,” “Vilified,” and “Held Your Tongue.” There also were a handful of other Alice in Chains songs played, “Would?”, “Rooster,” “Down in a Hole,” and shockingly, “Hate to Feel.” This was Jerry’s first time playing “Hate to Feel” as a solo artist and the first time the song has been played live since 1993 by an Alice in Chains member!! I was shocked, to say the least, and I felt so incredibly lucky to be able to see that live!

I was so beyond impressed by every member of Jerry’s band, and Jerry himself. There was so much talent on the stage and I was so incredibly grateful to have been able to be in attendance at the first stop of this tour. I would 100% recommend that anyone who can make it to a stop on Jerry Cantrell’s tour… should.
