Well… Lets first start out by asking. What the heck is… “Tanzneid”?

Tanzneid
 pronunciation: \ ˈtän-ts-nīt \
 part of speech: noun
language of origin: German (Tanz “dance” + Neid “envy”)

Definition: : a feeling of envy or jealousy toward another person’s dancing ability or skill

Electric Callboy: “Tanzneid”

Electric Callboy returned to Seattle on April 24, 2026 with a show that felt less like a concert and more like a full-scale, high-energy ADHD fueled technometal rave. The sold-out Paramount Theater, packed with 3,000 fans, was as hyped and responsive as I’ve ever seen. Every single one of their chart toppers was met with a ton of energy, dancing and singing along at the top of your lungs. It comes as no surprise though, from their TEKKNO Tour stop in Seattle in August 2023 at the Neptune Theater. Same energy, just three times the capacity and three times the vibes.

The Tanzneid Tour arrives at a pivotal moment for the German group. Following the January 2025 release of “Elevator Operator” and the subsequent departure of longtime drummer David Friedrich, there was some uncertainty around what touring would look like moving forward. With Frank back behind the kit (at least for now) and a new album cycle underway, the question seemingly feels answered. The band sounds locked in, confident, and comfortable leaning all the way into the silly but super well produced, polished performance they’ve built. I feel like what makes Electric Callboy work is that they understand exactly what they are. They’re not trying to fit into a traditional metal lane, and they’re not interested in toning anything down. The humor is intentional. The excess is intentional. Even the absurd moments are calculated in a way that keeps the show from drifting. Seattle responded to that in full.

Electric Callboy: “Every Time We Touch”

The night opened with strong support from Scene Queen and Polaris, both of whom set the tone early. Polaris delivered a tight, emotionally charged set that grounded the evening in metalcore roots, while Scene Queen leaned into theatricality and attitude, priming the crowd for what was to come. I’ve been a long time fan of Polaris and was very excited when I first heard they were touring with EC. And as I would come to learn, they’re a true, through and through metalcore band that just executes. Great sound, great presence, they deliver on their hits, their sound mix is great. Nothing more, nothing less. An amazing choice for an opener to get people hyped up.

Polaris: “Nightmare”

Alright, to wrap this up… some bands rely on production. Some rely on musicianship. Electric Callboy sits in a space where both matter, but neither works without the audience buying in. On this stop of the Tanzneid Tour, they didn’t have to convince anyone. And here’s the spoiler alert (that you can also find on setlist.fm). They closed out the show with “We’ve Got The Moves”, and for those of you who have seen the video of their German audience singing the breakdown, IYKYK, that moment was nothing shy of magical. I’ll post it here for those of you who need to catch up. As popular as this breakdown is I’m sure
